About/bio
1971Trained under Arthur Hough, English trained stained glass painter, Wellington. 1975-85, Henry Downing, English trained Leadlighter in Christchurch. Internship Victoria & Albert museum 1984-Feb 85 Stained Glass Conservation. Under June Lennox.
Qualifications and/or experience
Apprenticeship under Henry Downing 10 years
49 years experience. Specialising in stained glass conservation since returning to New Zealand in February 1985.
Since the EQ's in Canterbury, we have undertaken several major restorations including The Martin Travis stained glass memorial window in the Arts Centre and dozens of complete churches for CPT anglican Diocese. Hunter Building VUW Memorial set of stained glass. Government House Heraldic stained glass. Many of these commissions included the use of Isothermal glazing installations that we have introduced since the earthquakes experience, where dozens of heritage stained glass was either lost or extremely damaged.
